Alex Hennig

Alex Hennig is a theatre and dance scholar, dramaturge and journalist. As a dramaturge she works with Angela Alves, Hendrik Quast, Lea Moro, Peter Pleyer, Lois Alexander, and others. She is a member of a steering group for Berlin Tanz∆rchiv and was most recently involved as a research assistant in the exhibition project "The Century of Dance" at the Akademie der Künste. As a journalist, she has written for the platforms Tanzschreiber, the magazine Tanz, for tanzraumberlin, and Berliner Zeitung. She is co-founder of the online platform "viereinhalb sätze. texte über tanz". Since 2015 she has curated the festival series S.o.S. and Alumni.Tanz.Berlin at ada Studio, together with Cilgia Gadola and Johanna Withelm, and in 2021 the festival A.PART, together with Julek Kreutzer and Diethild Meier. In 2021 she was jury member for the CAA scholarship for dance. Since October 2021 she has been a jury member for the Berlin Senate's Wiederaufnahmeförderung (re-staging fund) as well as a member of the advisory board of the Kulturförderung (culture funding) Pankow. She is concerned with questions of social origin and humor, archive and power, visibility of diverse, bodies in dance and performance, theatre and illness, and text and dance.
